Privacy Policy

Effective May 30, 2026

Operator and contact

AI web reader is operated by Rajakumar, an individual based in India. Privacy questions and deletion requests may be sent to [email protected].

Website purchases

We collect the buyer email address and, if provided, name to process purchases, issue licenses, prevent fraud, and provide support. Polar processes payment and checkout information under its own privacy terms. We do not receive complete payment-card details. Mailjet delivers transactional license and support email.

Licenses and installations

Our server receives a hashed or submitted license credential as needed for verification, a randomly generated installation identifier, Chrome and extension version information, verification times, and license status. This data enforces one installation per key and supports resets, revocation, and fraud prevention. The identifier is not intended to identify you outside AI web reader.

Page text and OpenAI

When you request a summary or speech, the extension sends the required extracted page or selected text directly to OpenAI using your own API key. OpenAI processes that content under your OpenAI agreement. AI web reader's backend does not receive page text, summaries, or audio.

Local extension data

Your OpenAI API key, license key, settings, summaries, listening jobs, and generated audio are stored locally in Chrome. The extension provides controls to clear these categories and all local data. Uninstalling the extension generally removes extension storage, subject to Chrome behavior.

Analytics

The website may use PostHog's US service for privacy-safe product and purchase funnel events. We do not intentionally send reading URLs, page text, summaries, audio, API keys, or license keys to analytics. Analytics is enabled only when a public project key is configured and subject to applicable consent requirements.

Retention and deletion

Purchase and license records are retained while needed to provide the license, meet tax and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. Operational logs are retained for a limited period appropriate to security and troubleshooting. Local extension data remains until you clear it or uninstall. Email [email protected] to request access or deletion; we may retain records required by law or necessary to establish a transaction.

Service providers and changes

Data is shared only as needed with Polar, Mailjet, PostHog, hosting providers, and OpenAI as described above, or where legally required. We may update this policy when the product or legal requirements change and will publish the revised effective date here.
